Regency Day Promenade Dress, Part 2

In part 1, I was still debating exactly what to do about the overdress.  http://accidentalcostumer.com/regency-daytime-promenade-dress-part-1/ I loved the check I was working with so much that I was tempted to make it into a dress itself. Well – my final decision was that I had enough fabric to do both an overdress and later a daytime dress out of the same fabric!

So for Louisville I went with going close to  the first fashion plate in my previous post 

i made ruched trim by cutting the tafetta into strips, hemming it under and then using my Bernina ruffler foot.  I like how it turned out.  

I shaped the skirt on the overdress to match the fashion plate and applied the trim
